The gallery allows you to browse through a selection of IJM's photographs. The main focus is Natural History which is the study of animals and their surroundings

Wildlife and Nature

The wildlife images are capturing portraits of animals from many locations including Canada as well as the UK. These are images of the animal in their environment, maybe not as totally ‘wild’ as one would expect, since tourism and shrinking animal habitats brings humans more into contact with many species, which now frequently interact with their observers.

Nature as a subject covers the interaction of wildlife with its surroundings and each other. Mostly observing smaller species such as birds and insects performing their routine annual activities for their survival such as feeding and mating.

Flowers

Using macro photography on even the most everyday flower can reveal aspects of its beauty that had previously been unnoticed. Intricacies of design and function become revealed. Frequently engaging with insect activity, these are not sterile images. Photographs of fields of poppies or bluebells in woods give hints of hues, which are now blatantly visible.

Landscapes

Photography of landscapes covers millions of images. Even the same scene can be photographed at different times of the day, under different weather conditions to produce images of differing ‘moods’. Views which may appear ordinary, take on magical qualities when seen at a glorious sunset or even in the rain.
